Text-Based Curriculum
Physics-Book Online covers all of the
topics in a standard high school physics curriculum. The program contains 120 lessons
and labs with more than 200 hands-on activities,
experiments and projects. Physics-Book is divided into 15 two-week
modules. Each module contains 4 theory lessons, 4 labs, a
project and a test.
How
the Program Works
Each lesson involves three steps:
1. Try This Attempt one (or both) of the
hands-on activities that illustrate the concepts at a
practical level.
2. Read the Notes - The lesson notes introduce
concepts and strengthen these with worked examples and
illustrations.
3. Do the Exercises Questions and calculations
reinforce learning and provide valuable experience in
finding solutions to technical problems.
Get
Started
You will need the following items for the hands-on
activities in the First Lesson:
- Tape measure (length
between 1 and 3 meters))
- Twine (~ 1 meter to
make a pendulum.)
- Metal weight for
pendulum bob
- Matches
- Aluminum foil
- Paper clip
- Safety pin
The
First Lesson
Select Lesson 1.1 from the List of Lessons and Labs below and:
- Attempt the hands-on
activities
- Read the Notes
- Do the exercises
- Check your answers
Homework
Plan & Prepare: Read the Planning Guide and obtain the
items you will need for the hands-on activities and
experiments. After each lesson, prepare for the Next Lesson. If necessary, test any devices
that need to be assembled to ensure that they will work
as planned.
Tests
What is measured improves - Each two-week module contains a short set
of questions to consolidate and test the student's
knowledge.

Conditions
of Use
Physics-Book Online notes and instructions (lesson
materials) are the property of Endeavor Science and are
offered free of charge to students and teachers for
personal use only.
Students and teachers are permitted to download and print
one copy of each lesson for personal use. Downloading
lesson materials contained in more than 3 Modules during
any 30-day period is not permitted. Duplication and/or
distribution of any of the lesson materials in any form
is prohibited.
